How the index works
- Outfield players: (goals + assists) per match. Where we have expected goals and assists (top-5 leagues), half the weight goes to (xG + xA) per match, so luck counts less. The index is the percentile among all eligible outfield players, from 0 to 100.
- Goalkeepers: 60% save rate, 40% clean sheets per match, percentile among goalkeepers only.
- Only players with at least 8 matches this season are ranked. The data has no minutes played, so substitute appearances count as matches.
- Defenders and holding midfielders score lower because the index only sees attacking output. It is a description of this season so far, not a prediction and not a tip.
